Playing with eggs (egg smash challenge)

In Abyaneh's rich history and culture, Eid Nowruz has been an opportunity to cherish the famous and deeply rooted numerous domestic games such as "Egg Contest" among the children not least adults. Urban life has had a negative impact on the lives of Abyaneh's people, including traditional customs such as local and indigenous games held in Nowruz that are increasingly forgotten. The revival of native and local games is important in the dynamism and vitality of the new generation. One of Nowruz highlights for the children in Abyaneh is to play egg games. A way to rest from school work. How's the game going? What is needed? Two eggs. When plays this game? At new year (Nouruz)

The egg competition is a double game. At the beginning of the game, one player holds his egg in a tight ring between the thumb and forefinger so that the tip is pointed upwards, and the other player strikes with tip of his/her egg against first players egg. The loser is one with the broken egg. Beating on the side of the egg is not acceptable and whoever strikes is the loser of the game. Every egg that breaks, the player is a loser and must give his egg to the opponent.

Sometimes competing hit eggs to the their front teeth with the tip of the egg to pick firmer eggs for competition. From the sound can be determined the egg's strength or shell thickness. Image: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestand: Photo Sohrab Roshandel
